Creative Block - No, not me!

As I’m working through new areas and gathering lots of info, I often take a bunch of notes. Then I organize those and try to find areas where there may be gaps. Then I try to see if I already have resources or info to fill in those gaps. Then I move on to the next steps of whatever the process or project may need to have done.
Well, sometimes filling in all the gaps is prohibitive to actually getting a project to move along. Sometimes getting “all” the info is not practical. Maybe a series of projects is too big to know what the future holds and planning out all the steps will prove way too time consuming because too many variables are going to impact the next phases.
In the (re)building of large bridges, like the one that recently collapsed in Minneapolis, they have been talking about a process called “design build” where they do some of the designing along the way, and they don’t have a complete design done before starting. That concept just hit me, as a method to consider as I work through some projects.
Well, that still didn’t get the juices going enough. Today I’m just struggling to think through ways to present a concept and really have a good, energized pitch for what what I’m talking about, and a good way to share it with others.
Then I remembered something.
Earlier this summer, Asif mentioned the view. So, now I’m plugging away in one of our conference rooms with a view. Hmmm… Maybe it’s working! This post came out in only a couple minutes!
