What is Web 2.0? (repost, with more commentary)

The Machine is Us/ing Us (Final Version)
We live in a digital age, where lifestyles are often dictated by online or offline status. Sometimes it’s the Internet. Sometimes it’s mobile phones. Sometimes it’s television or movies. Yes, we all know there are many more avenues.
Yet, a lot of people still struggle with understanding this stuff. They often do understand some of it, but the parts they do not understand can be scary.
I think this video is something everyone can benefit from understanding. It’s significant enough for me that I’m taking the time to repost and draw attention to it, again.
I’m not the only person to think this video is significant. It’s been watched over 3 million times and has more than 5 thousand comments. When I originally saw this, it had only been viewed a few hundred times.
Here is a “copy and paste” of my original post, from February 6th, 2007. After watching the video, my mention of “copy and paste” may just carry more significance…
Here’s a decent description of Web 2.0, via a video by Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University. UPDATE: link to Michael Wesch

Thanks for the email Tim. Also, via BoingBoing. And, related to why there is a need for TechProfound.
