A Few Good Jobs

You can’t handle the truth job!
Had a 2nd interview yesterday morning, and just got another request for an interview at a different company a couple hours ago.  They are both really good companies.  It’s kind of interesting seeing inquiries come in bunches, but they’re really good jobs and I’m excited!

I’ve heard these words a lot lately.  In the recent email from Steve Balmer, those words are firmly embraced.  The email also boldly talks about change, and risk.
The changes are dramatic. And with significant change comes more than a little risk. After all, these are some of the best-known and most-used products on the planet. [...]

I suppose I better read this email I just got from SteveB.  I see there was a live webcast too.  As of about 10 AM they say the on-demand version will be available shortly.  I think the live one just ended.  It’s available now.

Doc Searls writes a little about his thoughts on home schooling.  Personally, I have most often found home schooled kids to pretty much all be smarter.  I’ve also found home schooled kids to pretty much all be a bit mal-adjusted socially or psychologically.  That doesn’t mean that other, non-home schooled kids don’t also have similar [...]

Tweblog.com Headers

Yesterday I made a new photoset called Tweblog.com Headers.  It has only 4 images right now.  All of those images are displayed and linked below.  They are header images used on this blog…  Just trying to keep things a little bit fresh…

BTW, in talking w/ my brother yesterday, he thought some of the pictures I used on [...]

Not My Crib

This is what most people probably think my “office” is like.  It’s not my office.  It’s not my video.  It’s not my crib.  And, I don’t know this person.  But the video is cool.  It’s a parody of this one.  Now get outa here!

Om Malik talks about content aggregation and social media.  I think his ideas about the large networks using aggregation as a revenue stream do make a lot of sense.  I think the direction Om’s post took at the end is wrong.
Time is not the biggest argument for hyper aggregation.  Laziness is the biggest argument.  Each [...]

Robert Scoble mentions a two minute email rule, from Eric Mack.  I think that’s a bad rule that only treats symptoms.  I’ve also noticed that most people complaining about commenting on too much email are the people who most often beg for email in all their communication.  They often say, “Email that to me or [...]

Change the world.  I’m starting with me.
on LeadershipVoid - an old feeling going mainstream
There is no doubt that I have felt this way before.  The feeling I am trying to describe, I’m going to call LeadershipVoid.  I don’t know of another word or feeling or emotion that describes this - to the extent that I [...]

Does it take 500 words to change things?
Probably not. It probably takes less than a hundred, plus a secret ingredient.
The secret ingredient is your desire to actually do something about it. To take action, to believe that it’s worthwhile, to confront what feels like a risk but really isn’t. The secret ingredient is to [...]

I’m looking forward to vista.  Don’t have it yet.  But, I have felt this a lot lately.
