What will today bring?

What will today bring?
That’s a loaded question. On the surface it sounds like whatever happens will happen. That’s true. On the surface it sounds like I will have a good day, bad day or somewhere in between. On the surface it sounds like I might have some expectations or hesitations. The list goes on…
There is reality. And, there is a perception of reality. Similarly, God can bring about whatever he desires, whenever he desires it, in whatever way he desires it to happen. And, I can chose how to respond, how to involve myself, how to have my reaction on the inside, how to have my reaction on the outside, how to listen, how to love, how to define the impact of whatever has happened. The list goes on…
For me, recent career moves and life moves have happened. I get to observe some parts, and I get to participate in most parts. I participate with my perception, with my reaction, with my involvement, and with everything I have learned in life up to this point. I get to predetermine how I want to let some things affect me – sometimes. I get to predetermine how I want to be involved – sometimes.
I believe that there are far more times in one’s life where he or she is able to look at various walls of communication, of trouble, of timing, of history… and is able to break through. However, it’s usually a choice to do so. The times in life where I am confronted with those choices are very powerful, moving and emotional for me. How will I respond? What character will I display? Which thought processes will I turn up and which will I turn down?
So, the answer to the question, “What will today bring?” is a loaded answer. I’m glad that I don’t answer these questions on my own. I have the Holy Spirit living in me, Jesus who died on the cross for me, and my God is an awesome God who reigns from heaven above. I think it’s time to break down some walls!
