Back from short vacation & IE 7 Beta 2

Just got back from a quick vacation.  Very nice.  Highly recommended.
IE 7 Beta 2 came out while I was gone.  I’ve updated and am now trying it out.
Ahhh… It’s nice to put “refreshed” as my current mood.

New LiveJournal Feature: location

I just tested this with an update to my post from a little bit ago this morning.  It adds a “location:” and then whatever I put into that field on my post is what gets linked to Google Maps.
Pretty cool!

computer fast

Along with the recent stress fast, it seems to me that it would also be a decent time for a computer fast.  I recently needed to get a new pc.  I did that over this past weekend.  It was driven by needing to get taxes done, otherwise I probably would have gone a few more [...]

stress fast

I’m taking a few days off (Friday thru Monday).
I need to recharge my batteries.  I’m not working or blogging or reading blogs or getting online other than to check personal email, and that will probably only be from my phone and not sitting at the computer.  It’s a fast from stress for a few days.

going back to using newsbot for a bit

http://newsbot.msnbc.com
It’s a similar thing to http://news.google.com and I used it a ton before I got into reading blogs as much.  But, recently, there is too much junk coming through the blogs and they’ve been taking too much time to stay up with.  I’m sure I’ll clean out a bit, cuz I think I’m up to about [...]

What is a leader?

Per a previous post and a comment on that post…
I don’t think that one needs followers, in order to be a leader.  Doing the right thing, at any cost, that’s being a leader.  Many times that does not mean that there are followers.  Often times, that means that there are definitely not followers.  Doing the [...]

trying to size up the stress

In life, stress happens.  We are all finite individuals.  The world and our society in America is not capable of leveraging stress and making good of it.  That’s something that happens because of our belief in God, His grace, and a full realization of our finite capabilities.  That leads towards faith, which can rip apart stress [...]

66 items in my “Blog These” folder

Well, I think it’s time to write up a storm.  The problem is that I’ve been quite a bit moody lately.  And, I’ve heard and read that writing while moody tends to not yield some of the best posts.
Well, I’m still writing.  I’m just not publishing all of the writing.
There’s a lot of great technology [...]

Reading up on: The Practical PM

http://www.thepracticalpm.com/serendipity/
Ed, your info looks good, and you caught my attention!  Even the name is right there and helpful.  Let’s see what else catches my eye as I read more.
(One suggestion… How do I contact you?  It’d be nice to have that listed right on your main page somewhere.)
UPDATE: Good post on: What is a Practical [...]

Nerds and Geeks via Wikipedia

Nerd
There’s actually a “personality theory” section.  I think some people have lots of creativity.  (I’m saying it that way to be PC.  Anyone who makes a Nerd Personality Theory is a nerd. - And, that’s not PC.)
Geek
Oh boy…  This one’s got a “reclaiming and self-identification” section.  At least they have the grace to separate the [...]
